Why This Retreat?

I thought I was already living slowly.

Then I had surgery, and life hit the brakes hard.
What I discovered shocked me: my seemingly slow life was still incredibly fast. I just hadn't noticed.

My recovery taught me things I couldn't have learned any other way.
Through my garden: the slugs, the wind, the seeds that didn't come up, I learned patience.
I learned that life isn't a project to be completed.
There is no destination.
There's only now, and what you make of it.

That realisation changed everything.
I started to notice beauty in small things. I made Monday afternoons count.
I read bedtime stories from bed, in pain, and understood that even that was enough.

It was like a giant zoom in on my life, with a highlighter on what actually matters.

I thought I knew this before. But this felt different.

That's why I created this day.
Not to teach you something new, but to give you the space to feel what you already know.

This Is For You If:

Your body is tired…
but your mind keeps going.

You sit down to rest…
and still feel switched on.

You move through your days…
ticking everything off,
but not really being in them.

What You'll Experience

This day gently brings you back.

Not through effort.
Not through discipline.

But through space.

The kind of space where your nervous system can finally soften…and you can feel like yourself again.

Your Host

Hi, I'm Erika.

I'm a certified life coach, slow-living teacher, and mum of three, based in Oxfordshire. I've been holding space for women who are ready to pause, breathe and come back to themselves, through meditation, emotional release work, and now, retreats.

I created The Art of Slow Living because I wanted to offer what helped me most: not more information, not more doing, just genuine space.

A day where nothing is expected of you other than to arrive, and to notice what's already there.

I hold this space with warmth, gentleness and a lot of lived experience. You'll be safe here.

What The Day Includes

  • Opening circle to help you arrive - fully

  • Guided practices to slow your thoughts and settle your body

  • A mindful walk in nature to reconnect with what’s around you

  • Outdoor meditation to anchor calm and presence

  • Nourishing lunch

  • Gentle emotional reset practices (only as deep as feels right for you)

  • Time to sit, reflect, and just be, without needing to do anything
